This pot is ideal for slow cooking sauces, soups, and stews while reducing the content. This item which is made from cast aluminum is a porous material. The advantages of using aluminum is that it is relatively quick to heat and it requires only low to medium heat source. These cast aluminum pans retain heat longer then items that are made by rolled aluminum, because of the air pockets formed during the pouring of the aluminum in the mold.
